TRAINING PROGRAM FOR GCE A/L ICT TEACHERS 2024

The Center for Information Technology Services at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka organized a training program for Advanced Level Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teachers from government schools in the North Central Province, in collaboration with the Department of Computing, Faculty of Applied Sciences. The training took place on the 18th and 19th of September 2024.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Manoj Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hemantha Kulathilaka, Head of the Department of Computing and Director of the Center for Information Technology Services, as well as the Deputy Director of IT from the Department of Education.

A total of 35 teachers participated in the program, which consisted of four sessions covering topics such as Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, Programming in Pascal, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Lecturers from the Faculty of Applied Sciences served as the resource persons for the workshop.

The training sessions were conducted by Mr. P.S. Palliyaguruge, Mr. N.S. Weerakon, Mrs. AKNL Aththanagoda, Mrs. MMA Nisansala, and Mr. Akalanka Hettige, with support from ICT demonstrators and instructors. The staff of the Department of Physical Sciences and the Center for Information Technology Services provided extensive support to ensure the success of the training program.
